One of India’s fastest growing IT services companies, Larsen Toubro Infotech, has made a strategic move to support students studying Business Information Systems at RMIT University

Soon after establishing the Australian arm of its company in Melbourne in 2010, L&T Infotech engaged with RMIT to recognize high-achieving students in the area of applications development and information systems analysis and design.

L&T Infotech is a subsidiary of Larsen and Toubro and is differentiated by its unique business-to-IT connect. L&T Infotech provides world-class service to clients in a range of industries, offering solutions that are based on business and technology insights.

“RMIT’s strong connections with industry, and commitment to education that links business with IT, appealed to our organisation," Sharad Limaye, Area Director for L&T Infotech, said.

"We are proud to be associated with RMIT.”

Cash prizes were awarded at the annual RMIT Business Prize Giving Ceremony in May.

Aron Bury, who is currently undertaking a cooperative education placement at Deloitte, was awarded two of the three prizes.

“It is a fantastic encouragement to receive industry sponsored awards recognising the hard work that we put in to our studies,” Mr Bury said.

“I look forward to continuing my career in IT solutions development.”

Professor Caroline Chan, Head of the School of Business IT and Logistics, said the University was grateful for L&T Infotech’s support, which enables the Business Information System program to remain competitive and produce top-quality graduates.

“L&T Infotech’s generous donation will reward talented students and inspire them to continue their achievements in these areas,” Professor Chan said.
